New Muslim Mayor Of London Quickly Intervenes In America And Attacks Trump

May 11, 2016

Sadiq Khan, the first Muslim mayor of London, quickly jumped into the fray after being elected by standing up for political correctness.

Khan stated to CNN that he hopes Donald Trump “doesn’t win” the United States Presidential election due to his stance on radical Islam. Kahn called Trump “ignorant” and warns that his temporary ban on Muslims traveling to the United States will increase the number of terrorist attacks on the U.S. and make both the UK and U.S. less safe.

Khan is mischaracterizing Trump’s position. Trump’s position has been that he would put a temporary ban on some migrants, refugees and Muslims from migrating to the U.S. until the inept U.S. government’s immigration screening process can get a handle on the thousands of people flooding into the U.S. who currently aren’t being properly screened.

Khan was elected Mayor of London in early May, 2016. He immediately started butting heads with GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump. Kahn’s comments came on the heels of Trump’s announcement of his position. Trump stated that he will make an exception for Khan. Khan quickly fired back stating that he “isn’t exceptional” and that the ban on muslims is “ridiculous”.

Many are questioning the sincerity of the new elected mayor’s statements. His criticisms of Trump came shortly after Hillary Clinton tweeted a message of support. Many are wondering if this is an attempt to discredit Trump and subtly support his opponent for the upcoming election. Clinton’s tweet can be seen below:

Khan has accused politicians of “islamophobia” before. During his campaign for Mayor of London he regularly accused his opponent, Zac Goldsmith, of drawing from “Donald Trump playbook” and targeting his religion.

Buzzfeed confirmed the reports here:

Kahn argues that Trumps stance on Islam could alienate non-radical muslims and drive them towards extremism. He released his full statement to CNN:

“Donald Trump’s ignorant view of Islam could make both our countries less safe — it risks alienating mainstream Muslims around the world and plays into the hands of the extremists”
