Israeli forces arrested a number of senior Hamas officials in the West Bank on Monday and Tuesday night in a continued effort to crack down on the Palestinian violence against Israelis over the last nine months.
Ramallah Abdul-Jaber Faqhaa, a Palestinian member of parliament and Hamas senior member, was arrested and has a long history of arrests by the Israelis as well as the arrest of the former Palestinian Prisoners Minister and Hamas leader, Wasfi Qabha.
Increasing violence against Israel and her people have prompted Israeli forces to initiate a preemptive strike against those Palestinians and Hamas members who are evidenced as being imminent threats to Israelis. In March, a Palestinian stabbed and killed an American tourist and only a few weeks later, another Palestinian detonated his suicide vest and injured several in Jerusalem.
Additionally, Hamas has been taunting Israel with mortar fire whilst building more cross-border tunnels from the Gaza Strip into Egypt where it’s widely speculated that the terror group is aiding the Wilayat Sinai, a branch of Islamic State in the Sinai Peninsula, by smuggling personnel and weapons back and forth across the border utilizing this tunnel system. What else should Israel do to thwart imminent terrorist attacks by Hamas on Israelis? Sound off in the comments below!
