An illegal immigrant has been posing as a deceased veteran for the past four years to receive almost $30,000 worth of benefits.

Rene Ortiz Quintana, 69, has been posing for the past four years as veteran, Ruben J. Gallardo, who died in 1994 so that he can receive VA, social security and other state and local benefits.
Quintana has received a grand total of $29,062.19 while posing as Gallardo.
Police say Quintana managed to get a Phoenix health plan card, an Arizona identification card, a state health card and a VA choice card.
Quintana has been charged with theft, fraudulent schemes, six counts of forgery and seven counts of identity theft.
