The two people planned to meet up in Brockton, Mass. to complete the sale of a dirt bike they had been arranging via text for several days prior to the incident. When the would-be victim, a 31-year-old man from Pepperell, Mass, arrived at the agreed meeting place he was greeted by a masked teen who attempted to rob him with a BB gun. Police would later confirm that the masked teen was the same person the intended victim arranged the sale with.
There was a brief struggle over the suspect’s BB gun. The 15-year-old robber took off running, at which point the intended victim retrieved a 9mm pistol from his vehicle. He fired at the masked 15-year-old three times, striking him with the third and final shot. The teen collapsed several hundred feet from the location of the shooting.
The 15-year-old was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-lethal injuries. The 31-year-old is being investigated by police but he is not being charged for any crimes at this time. Police have confirmed that he is licensed to carry a firearm and witnesses have confirmed he was acting in self defense.
