On Memorial Day a veteran was viciously run over by a car in a bizarre case of road rage. The incident took place on U.S. Highway 41 near County Line Road, close to the Hillsborough-Pasco line, at approximately 5:30 PM. After a short verbal altercation the driver of a Grey Pontiac callously runs over a veteran, and his passenger, who were out for an evening motorcycle ride. The veteran and his passenger were treated for minor injuries, the driver of the Pontiac has been arrested and the whole incident was caught on tape.
The incident was recorded by Abe Garcia, a local florida resident. Garcia’s video, which can be seen below, records the chaos as the grey Pontiac flattens the motorcycle and sends it’s riders flying to the pavement. The driver of the vehicle is a 31-year-old man named Robert Paul Vance. Vance is a serial traffic offender that was driving without a drivers license.
Vance also has an extensive criminal history to add to his traffic violations. He has served two stints in state prison and has been convicted previously on drug, burglary and felony traffic charges. This incident has added several charges to his rap sheet including one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, one count of leaving the scene of a crash involving injury and one count of operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
The operator of the motorcycle in the video is Joseph Philipp Calderazzo. He is a veteran and avid motorcycle enthusiast. His passenger has been identified as Melanie Ann Milinkovich. Both Calderazzo and Milinkovich escaped the incident with minor injuries that were treated on the scene.
The video below shows footage of the event and may be disturbing to sensitive viewers.
