Lindsay Lohan seems to be intent on avoiding her tumultuous path to obscurity. Her latest attempt to remain in the limelight centers around an alleged spiritual awakening and possible conversion to Islam.

Lohan is allegedly searching for spiritual peace to help her compensate for her past which is mired with drug abuse and court-ordered rehab. She claims that her sister converting to Buddhism has inspired her to be open-minded and seek peace in unconventional places. A rep for Lohan has confirmed that she is exploring other religions.
Lohan is convinced that many Americans have misconceptions of the values conveyed in the Koran, despite her inability to finish the text. When asked if she had completed the entire books she responded,
“I’m not done reading it. Do you know how long that would take? It takes so long.”
Many speculate that the former child star’s spiritual exploration could be nothing more than a highly orchestrated PR stunt. Lohan was first photographed carrying a Koran last summer during her first day of community service. Her latest announcement comes on the heels of an announcement of her engagement to Egor Tarabasov a rich Russian.
However, a source to ‘Page Six’ of the New York Post told them in March that, “His father is a wealthy man . . . but he’s no oligarch.”
It remains to be seen whether or not she is truly pursuing Islam or if this is another of her cries for attention. Her years of drug and substance abuse, paired with the stress of being a child star, could have degraded her brain and left her in a vulnerable position that would spur a major life change. However, it’s also likely she is simply trying to jump start her acting career and re-enter the limelight.
