Iran continues its posturing of aggression by announcing its sending warships and destroyers to Latin America in a move to unite its military might with anti-U.S. countries in the region. Iranian Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi stated on Saturday it planned to expand its military cooperation with countries who oppose the U.S. Salehi said,

“We intend to take a longer stride in marine voyages and even go towards friendly states in Latin America. The [Iranian] Navy is capable of deploying in that region“
and emphasized that Iran is in the process of updating its navy with state-of-the-art weapons. Iran has been wanting to expand ties with Venezuela, Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Cuba, Mexico and Colombia.
According to the Fars News Agency, Iran’s semi-official media agency in Tehran,
“Iran’s strong and rapidly growing ties with Latin America have raised eyebrows in the US and its western allies since Tehran and Latin nations have forged an alliance against the imperialist and colonialist powers and are striving hard to reinvigorate their relations with the other independent countries which pursue a line of policy independent from the US.“
This posturing by Iran is an attempt to create an axis “against the colonialist powers” against the United States; Iran’s hostile nature toward the U.S. continues to grow since the nuclear deal was signed in July of last year. Last month alone, Iran announced it planned to expand its naval powers just days after Secretary of State John Kerry warned Iran about its repeated ballistic missile tests that breached the UN and U.S. sanctions of the nuclear deal.
An item of particular importance that impacts this hostile move by Iran is the Obama administration wanting to relax financial restrictions on Iran to help bolster their economy. Iran, the leader in state-sponsored terrorism, continues to up the ante with it’s provocative aggression towards the U.S. and now becomes apparent that Iran’s posturing is being rewarded by the Obama administration in the form of easing financial restrictions.
What is it going to take for President Obama to realize that Iran and its hardliner leadership is no friend to the U.S. or her allies? Sound off in the comments below!
