Shortly after the United States court ruling in New York against Iran for the 9/11 attacks, more information is coming to light in the form of six documents obtained by Asharq Al-Awsat media that Iran and Hezbollah were indicted for their part in the 9/11 attacks in 2001. These six documents lay the foundation that Iran and Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy in Lebanon, had in fact colluded with the Al Qaeda terrorists in a material and direct manner.

The summary of findings from the court ruling are:
In an op-ed by Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, a prominent United Arab Emirates businessman and public figure, he addresses the importance of recognizing just how dangerous Hezbollah is and said,
“President Obama may not wish to acknowledge how dangerous Hezbollah is to Lebanon, the region and the world, but with the clock ticking on his tenure, I can only hope that the eyes of America’s next president are open wide.”
He also noted that as Hezbollah continues to infiltrate the western hemisphere (South and Central Americas and Mexico), Hillary Clinton was made aware of Hezbollah’s expansion into Cuba via an intelligence report emailed to her from Sid Blumenthal while she was U.S. Secretary of State.
Hezbollah, with Iranian backing, has been posturing against Israel for years whilst the Obama administration sits idly by and grants Iran its nuclear deal. It was only a few weeks ago that Hezbollah made a veiled threat against Israel and Iran following suit with its firing of two ballistic missiles with “Israel must be wiped out” written on them in Hebrew.
Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council recently deemed Hezbollah a terrorist group, which Saudi Arabia promises severe punishment for anyone who supports/sympathizes with the terror group. Despite the United States already listing Hezbollah as a terror group, not much is being done in terms of thwarting any threats Hezbollah may engage in. The one major factor that defines this inaction is the Obama administration giving Iran what it wanted, their nuclear deal; not a very good deterrent when it comes to fighting terrorism regardless if its Iranian state-sponsored or not.
Are these court documents regarding Hezbollah and Iran’s role in the 9/11 attacks surprising? How should the U.S. approach Hezbollah to stop its reach in the west? Sound off in the comments below!
