I read a news report on March 11th, 2016 about a homeowner who had been alerted by her home security system that a burglary was taking place at her home.
“She said she rushed home and found the teen climbing out of a window.” According to a news report. As she is a firearms owner and carries one, “Miami-Dade police said there was a confrontation and shots were fired. Police said they were on scene seconds after the shooting and gave CPR to the teen. Johnson was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.”

When asked about the young man, relatives were angry that he was shot and killed and blamed the homeowner, “What’s wrong with her,” asked Johnson’s sister Nisha Johnson. “She did not have to shoot him.”
But I think the most outrageous comment in the news article was this one by the young felon’s cousin Nautika Harris, “You have to look at it from every child’s point of view that was raised in the hood,” said Harris. “You have to understand… how he gonna get his money to have clothes to go to school? You have to look at it from his point-of-view.”
WHAT!?!?! Are you flipping kidding me? How else is going to get money for clothes and go to school!? That is one of the STUPIDEST comments I have ever heard trying to excuse the criminal behavior of a thug and felon.
So according to this woman who is related to the thug, he should be allowed to do this? And not face any form of punishment? According to Ms. Harris, burglary is how you are taught in the “hood” to get money for clothes and to pay for school.
Give me a break.
When are people like these relatives going to stop trying to find blame everywhere but where it should be? This young felon was shot and killed because of his own actions and choices. Not the homeowners.
How is he supposed to get money to pay for clothes and school? How about getting a job and paying for that stuff? How about working like the lady he was trying to steal from?
So who is to blame for this young man’s death? Well he is of course, and his stupid cousin who has the mindset that because you live in the “hood” it is ‘ok’ to steal other people’s stuff and face no consequences. Maybe if they had helped to raise him the right way, to respect the property of others, instill a work ethic, empathy and the like, things would be different.
It is people like her that need to have their heads examined for a missing organ, namely her brain. Stop blaming victims for your own actions or those of your relatives! You are to blame if anyone is, for teaching that thug that way of thinking.
