Alpha Battery, 3d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion provides both ground based air defense, and ground security of aviation sights. Because of the vitality of their mission when deployed, Marines get put through the grinder in their training in support of Deployment for Training, which basically means getting deployed just for purposes of training. Because the most you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle.
