For years the work done by female soldiers in Afghanistan had gone unknown by the public and even by the families of the women serving.
You see, in the communities of Afghanistan men are not allowed to check and pat down women in their homes. Therefore teams of brave females will accompany their male special operations counterparts on extremely dangerous mission to enter homes and inspect women who may be hiding weapons or strapped to them.
They also play a powerful role in these communities among the women, taking of their helmet so wives and young girls can see they are female and begin to relate to the U.S. troops roaming around their town.
Here is an inside look at some of these women and the heroes among them that never made it back. It’s an emotional report that will make you thankful for the brave women who serve our country.
AmericanMilitaryNews.com salutes women everywhere this International Women’s Day.
