He is a Medal of Honor recipient. However, this small act of kindness caught on video in the middle of combat shows his real nature. Seemingly small and insignificant things like these, are the ones that show the world what makes America the great country we are.

US Army Maj. Will Swenson received the Medal of Honor for his bravery while defending his country. At the time of the Battle of Ganjgal, Kunar Province, Afghanistan, on Sept. 8, 2009, then Capt. Swenson was an Afghan Border Police advisor, in support of 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry). His actions in battle that day earned the nation’s highest award, but small acts like the one caught on video, earned him and, by consequence, his country something even bigger: the enduring love and respect from the rest of the world.
