The year was 2011, and Marines with 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment had just established a patrol base (PB) in the kinetic village of Potay, Sangin District, Afghanistan.

The base came under attacked by Taliban fighters but the Marines fought off the attack with squad organic weapons and accurate mortar fire, in classic Marine form. Here is the video of that heroic battle:
