Three years ago today, 38 year old sniper legend Chris Kyle and 35 year old vet Chad Littlefield took 25 year old Marine vet Eddie Ray Routh shooting at the Rough Creek Ranch-Lodge-Resort in Erath County, Texas. Both Kyle and Littlefield never made it home.

Chris Kyle was one of the most well known SEAL snipers ever. Having 160 confirmed kills. He was so prolific that insurgents nicknamed him the “Devil of Ramadi” and put a $21,000 bounty on his head.
After he returned home from service. He began helping vets transition back into civilian life. One such vet was Routh, but both Kyle and Littlefield knew something wasn’t right with the young man who supposedly suffered from PTSD and schizophrenia.
On the way to the gun range, a place Kyle and Littlefield liked to take vets to ease some of the PTSD stress, Kyle texted his partner: “This dude is straight up nuts.” “Watch My Six.”
While at the range Routh shot both men with their own guns while they weren’t looking. Routh was arrested later that day and is currently serving a life sentence.
Today, take a few moments to remember these American heroes and say a prayer for their families and loved ones.
