In yet another startling case of teenagers joining ISIS, a 16 year old girl from Sweden says that life as a terrorist was “really hard” and asked her mom to pick her up from Iraq.

Her name is Marlin Stivani Nivarlain, and while she surely isn’t the first one to fall into the trap that ISIS lays for european teens, she is one of the most unique. Her journey from Swedish foster home, to ISIS controlled Mosul, Iraq, to the Kurdish city of Erbil awaiting repatriation into Sweden is riddled with moments that make the outside spectator wonder “why?”
Her transformation begins with her 19 year old boyfriend she met in 2014, who she claims duped her into joining the terrorist group while she was pregnant – A frightening idea given ISIS’ long history of sex slavery and abuse of young women.
The journey to the front lines began when the couple left their foster home last May. They then traveled by trains and buses to the Turkish border town of Gaziantep where they hopped into Syria to meet up with the ISIS terrorist her boyfriend was in contact with.
The jihadist then brought the two to Mosul. She had this to say to a Kurdish television station:
“First it was good together, but then he started to look at ISIS [she used a different name for the terror group] videos and speak about them and stuff like that.Then he said he wanted to go to ISIS, and I said, ‘Okay, no problem,’ because I did not know what ISIS meant or what Islam was — nothing.”
“In Sweden we have everything, and when I was there, I did not have anything. I did not have any money either. It was a really hard life. When I had a phone I started to contact my mum and I said: ‘I want to go home.’”
This is where the story about exactly what happens appears to crumble, probably due to the Kurds and western allies’ desire to keep circumstances surrounding rescues low key so ISIS doesn’t catch on. She was eventually rescued however from a house outside of Mosul.
Another concerning detail that has been left undiscussed by the girl is what happened to the child she was carrying.
Last year we told you that an ISIS Fatwa was discovered that detailed how members of the terror group are supposed to treat their sex slaves and children birthed from them in sickening detail. Here is how that document began:
“Some of the brothers have committed violations in the matter of the treatment of the female slaves. These violations are not permitted by Sharia law because these rules have not been dealt with in ages.”

While her age, background, and maturity level give her leeway as to the level of fault she carries, it also shows just how big of a problem this has become in Europe and the rest of the world among impressionable teens.
