It’s an argument as ancient as basic training itself: who’s the toughest, a Drill Instructor or a Drill Sergeant? It’s one of those “over a beer” argument of who’s boot camp you’d rather go (or not go) to, Marines or Army.

The truth is that before we send our sons and daughters into Afghanistan, Syria, or Iraq to fight enemies like Al-Qaeda, ISIS, and the Taliban, they need to be transformed. We’ll tell you this, there is a reason America’s military is second to none, both Marine Drill Instructors and Army Drill Sergeants are the best at what they do: turn civilians into killing machines. Not really for the weak stomach. Have fun.
