In the northern Iraqi town of Sinjar, Iraq lies a horrifying and heartbreaking reminder of the evils of ISIS.

As part of a CNN report, Nima Elbagir was taken through the city of 90,000 by their mayor Mahama al-Shangali. This Yazidi city has been devastated when over 600 of their people from the city and surrounding villages were rounded up and abducted by ISIS.
The surrounding villagers were brought to Sinjar and those who refused to join ISIS were promptly killed.
Those killed included numerous children, and their bodies left in mass graves.
Since then 200 Yazidi have escaped ISIS’ grasp, but the struggle for this ancient community continue.
