UPDATE 2:
The Navy has ruled this a false alarm with no signs on a shooting. Law enforcement was said to have acted swiftly.
UPDATE 1:
The shots came from building #26 near the gym as it appears someone fired three shots in the air. The children’s center is now secured and people are being evacuated from the building.

An active shooter has been reported at the Naval Medical Center near Balboa Park in San Diego, California.

The report came via the medical centers Facebook page with the following message:
“**!ATTENTION!** An active shooter has just been been reported in building #26 at Naval Medical Center San Diego. All occupants are advised to run, hide or fight. All non-emergency response personnel are asked to stay away from the compound, located at 34800 Bob Wilson Drive, San Diego, CA 92134.”
