Kevin White attended the Boston Marathon on a whim with his mother and father. It nearly cost all of them their lives.

White survived the blast but had two concussions and a perforated eardrum, as well as shrapnel wounds.
His dad Bill, had his right leg amputated and his mother Mary Jo, suffered a broken wrist and shrapnel injuries.
The family is declining to say what caused his death aside from that it was a sudden illness.
