The Commisioner of the NYPD during the 9/11 attacks was Bernard Kerik and in a recent interview he addressed the controversy surrounded supposed celebrations by muslim Americans following the attack.

When asked about them, he said that tens of thousands of people celebrated worldwide and some of them were at home in New York and New Jersey.
