While this year’s fiscal budget is still a topic of heavy debate, we already know civilian federal employees are headed for a 1% raise – so where does that leave our military?
To offer some perspective on this, below is a chart of the last 30 years of pay raises for the military and civilian federal employees.
The military pay bumps are usually tied to the Bureau of Labor Statistic’s Employment Cost Index but Congress has final say on the matter.
