In a press conference this afternoon, David Bowdich, assistant director of the FBI’s Los Angeles office announced that the FBI is now investigating the San Bernardino shooting as an act of terrorism.
This comes on the heels of a wave of information that not only were the two shooters radicalized, either by themselves or others, but that they also were ISIS supporters and promoters.
He also said there was a concerted effort to destroy evidence, including cell phones by the terrorists.
Additionally, the Facebook post supporting ISIS by Tafsheen Malik under an alias was posted just moments after the shooting.
From the AP:
The FBI says it is investigating the deadly mass shooting in California as an “act of terrorism.”
David Bowdich, assistant director of the FBI’s Los Angeles office, made the declaration at a news conference Friday in California.
He also said the shooters attempted to destroy evidence, including crushing two cell phones and discarding them in a trash can. He said authorities continue to investigate the case to understand the motivations of the shooters and whether they were planning more attacks.
