A Mayor in Istanbul, Turkey has said that it was a bomb on a train that cased an explosion at the Bayrampasa metro station which was at first believed to be a transformer issue.

The explosion, occurring on the European side of the city, is said to have left at least one dead.
Bayrampasa is a largely industrial and residential area in which the metro runs above ground – as opposed to the majority of Istanbul’s metro which runs underground.
Social media has provided us with photos of the scene on the ground:

From CNBC:
An explosion in Istanbul that injured several and reportedly killed at least one person on Tuesday was caused by a bomb, the mayor of the city’s Bayrampasa district said, Reuters reported.
At least one person was killed in an explosion at an Istanbul metro station on Tuesday, multiple outlets reported. The explosion was initially believed to have been from a power transformer, Turkey’s Haberturk reported, but Turkish broadcaster NTV later reported on the potential of a bomb.
