Here in the U.S., many of us have the impression that rooting out ISIS will be a task that takes many years and effort to complete. However, that opinion is not universal.

In fact the Kurdish head of intelligence and security thinks it’ll only take a matter of months, if not weeks!
Speaking near the northern Iraqi town of Sinjar where the Kurds drove out ISIS recently, Masrour Barzani told the BBC:
“Once they lose territory, there is no area for jihadist around the world to come to and they will lose their capability to recruit locals and lose capability to raise funds…I think if the international community is willing to fully engage and military defeat ISIS, it should not take more than months or perhaps even weeks.”
The Kurds are one of the few forces in that region effectively fighting ISIS on the ground and have long been asking the U.S. for arms and support.
