Last week, U.S. commandos in conjunction with the Iraqi military conducted a high-stakes raid to free dozens of Kurdish hostages from the clutches of ISIS.
It is believed that these prisoners were set to be executed in the very near future, thus necessitating the raid.

Freeing these 70 hostages was not without its costs however, Special Forces Master Sergeant Joshua Wheeler, a 39 year old member of Delta Force was killed in the raid. He was the first U.S. combat casualty in Iraq since 2011. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
