Germany Puts Army On Standby As 450,000 Refugees Flood Countrymaxresdefault
Germany has put 4,000 troops on standby in the case of an emergency crisis as thousands of Syrian refugees pour into the country every day.
Germany has plans to bring in as many as 800,000 refugees that have been forced from their homes by ISIS – All part of Angela Merkel’s “generous” response to the crisis.
Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen has said that these troops levels can be elevated as needed. Around Europe, refugees are causing riots and pushing local authorities to the max.
Already in Munich, more people have arrived at the train station than did all of last year! Sound off in the comments if you think these refugees will become a national security issue.
Berlin (AFP) – Germany has placed 4,000 troops on standby for this weekend alone to help with incoming refugees, Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen said on Friday.
The troops will be able “to help out in emergency cases” and more could be called up if necessary, she said, in remarks reported by the news weekly Der Spiegel.
“We still have room to scale this up,” she said, after Germany last weekend also mobilised thousands of troops to help with a record influx of 20,000 refugees, most of whom came on trains from Hungary via Austria.
