Today is the 70th anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. A powerful blast equivalent to 15,000 tons of TNT, it resulted in the death of 20,000+ soldiers and 70,000–146,000 but promptly ended the war with Japan which would have taken far more lives if continued.
It was a major moment in history and thanks to the AP’s unprecedented upload of historical film onto YouTube, we can commemorate today by watching this rare and recently released film!
