Nations like Germany and the Netherlands have increasingly had major issues with rising support for ISIS. Now Germany is taking a major step to stop that.
Last year it became officially illegal under German law for any fundraising, campaigning, online support, or public display of ISIS symbols of any kind.
For months police in Europe have dealt with sometimes violent displays of support for the Islamic State. Germany is used to these sort of laws however – Section 86a in it’s criminal code deals with the same type of banishment’s, mostly with respect to Nazism.
