The FBI has reportedly been investigating Hunter Biden and his business associates since 2019 and their investigation has focused on allegations of money laundering, according to a Department of Justice (DOJ) source who spoke with Sinclair Broadcast Group.

ABC 3340, a Sinclair Broadcast Group affiliate on Thursday reported the ongoing investigation surrounding business dealings involving Hunter Biden, who is Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son. The DOJ official told the broadcast group that the FBI’s investigation is ongoing.

On Thursday, Sinclair investigative reporter James Rosen tweeted, “EXCLUSIVE: A @TheJusticeDept official confirms that in 2019, the @FBI opened up a criminal investigation into “Hunter Biden and his associates,” focused on allegations of money-laundering, and that it remains open and active today. More very soon on your @WeAreSinclair stations.

Rosen also tweeted, “EXCLUSIVE: Tony Bobulinski tells @WeAreSinclair he was questioned by six @FBI agents, with counsel present, for five hours on October 23, listing him as a “material witness” in an ongoing investigation focused on Hunter Biden and his associates. His cell phones were examined.”

Rosen’s tweet included a broadcast segment in which he repeated the claims shared by the unnamed DOJ official. The broadcast segment also included an interview with Tony Bobulinski, who is a former business partner of Hunter Biden who has said Joe Biden knew of his son’s business dealings. Bobulinski is a former U.S. Navy veteran, and served as a naval nuclear command officer and held a Q-level security clearance, equivalent to a Top Secret clearance.

Bobulinksi told Rosen that FBI agents had interviewed for over five hours and reviewed digital evidence Bobulinski had stored on three cell-phones during his business dealings with Hunter Biden. Bobulinski said he was told by FBI agents that he may be brought back for additional questioning.

“They do list me as a material witness within the entire FBI on their computer systems, and it was a very cooperative deep dive into all the facts across that time period,” Bobulinski said.

Bobulinski said he was a witness into matters relating specifically to “the Biden family” in connection with the Chinese energy investment firm, CEFC, and “other operations around the world involving other countries.”

Bobulinski said, “I can only imagine to the extent that the Chinese communist party has information on the Biden family and their business dealings. Other business dealings that occurred in Romania, Khazakstan, Georgia, Monaco and the Middle East, and then obviously topping off in Russia.”

The Washington Examiner asked the FBI for comment on the alleged investigation. An FBI official said, “We have no comment, in keeping with our standard practice of neither confirming nor denying the existence of an investigation.”
