The Peoples Liberation Army of China has created a recruitment rap video to try to persuade young people to join.
The title of the video is “Battle Declaration” to show younger generations that great honor comes from joining the PLA. The song is very upbeat and very fast paced trying to pump up the younger generation to get excited for what the PLA has to offer them.
Over the past several months, several Chinese agencies have released similar videos to try in reel in support for several causes. Recently, China’s ministry of public security released videos to warn people of the dangers of spies. The spies were depicted as American superheroes.
The PLA also wants to show Chinese citizens that it is no longer a weak fighting force, but instead that they match up to the powers of the United States military. They do this by showing off rockets and military fighter jets that are technologically equivalent to that of the United States Military’s.
The PLA has previously had a lot of difficulty recruiting talent partially because the salaries for the position are very low. They have some of the lowest salaries comparatively to all other countries forces in the world.
The rapping starts close to halfway through and is just absolute gold.
