An Orlando Police Officer was shot and killed Monday morning while on duty around 7 AM local time outside of an Orlando area Walmart. Master Sgt. Debra Clayton was taken to the hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds where she was later pronounced dead. Orlando Police have identified the suspect as Markeith Lloyd and are currently asking anyone in the area to be on the lookout and alert them with any information.
WESH-TV reports the 41-year-old is wanted for the murder of Sade Dixon, his pregnant ex-girlfriend who he killed in December. Authorities say he is considered armed and dangerous.
More than a dozen schools have been placed on lockdown as they search for the gunman.
Police are planning a press conference later on Monday to provide more details.
