Republican Party Officials Fail At Telling Trump To Stay Quiet Following Orlando Terrorist Attack
Republican National Committee RNC officials asked Donald Trump not to speak out after the Orlando terrorist attacks. Trump decided to ignore their requests.
NBC News reported that a source who works with Donald Trump’s campaign said that RNC officials hoped Trump would stay silent and only offer condolences.
Trump has stated in the past that Obama’s refusal to use the words “radical Islamic terrorism” is not right and that “there is something going on.” “We’re led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he’s got something else in mind, Trump said on FOX News on Monday.
In an email to CNBC’s John Harwood, Dan Senor, a Republican strategist during the Bush administration, said that what Trump has said about Obama “should be a serious concern”
Trump has also recently reaffirmed his position on a temporary ban on all Muslims immigrating to the United States. Officials such as Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell have both voiced their opposition to this plan in the past.
