Leader Of Al-Qaeda In Syria Shot In Head During Gunfight

In what is being described as a “devastating blow” to the terror group, Sheikh Abu Sulaiman al-Masri was shot in the head and killed in during a gunfight in Aleppo, Syria.

Al-Masri commanded the al-Nusra Front, the Sunni Islamic jihadist militia linked to al Qaeda.

The gunfight was with the Syrian Arab Army. This was the aftermath:

This killing is a big win for Syrian and Russia forces that have been ferociously bombarding the al-Nusra Front.

One of al Qaeda’s senior commanders in Syria has been killed in a gun battle with Syrian Arab Army forces in Aleppo.

The al-Nusra Front, the Sunni Islamic jihadist militia fighting against Syrian Government forces in the civil war, confirmed Sheikh Abu Sulaiman al-Masri’s death this morning.

Images of his body, containing a bloody head wound, have been shared online with early reports suggesting he died fighting Assad forces.
