In what is being described as a “devastating blow” to the terror group, Sheikh Abu Sulaiman al-Masri was shot in the head and killed in during a gunfight in Aleppo, Syria.

Al-Masri commanded the al-Nusra Front, the Sunni Islamic jihadist militia linked to al Qaeda.

Images of his body, containing a bloody head wound, have been shared online with early reports suggesting he died fighting Assad forces.
