Operation Homefront is looking for an outstanding Coast Guard teen to be one of seven winners of their Military Child of the Year Awards! Nominations will be accepted through Dec. 5, 2018.

Six military teens will be chosen to represent the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and National Guard. Booz Allen Hamilton will present a 7th award for innovation based on a teen’s design of a bold and creative solution to address a local, regional or global challenge.

Every year one Coast Guard teen is selected based on their scholarship, volunteerism, leadership, extracurricular involvement and other criteria while facing the challenges of military family life.

Nominations may be made by parents, other family members, teachers, counselors, coaches, community officials, church leaders, neighbors and others by clicking here.

Anyone may nominate a child for this award, so long as the child meets the following eligibility requirements:

  • Child must be between the ages of 13 and 18 at the time of nomination.
  • Child and one adult guardian must be available to travel to the Washington, D.C., area for the Apr. 16-Apr. 19, 2019, gala award presentation.
