The Republican Committee Headquarters in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, was forced to evacuate on Saturday after the headquarters received an “angry, profanity-laced” bomb threat.
According to The Philly Inquirer, a Republican Party staff member received the call just after 11 a.m. on Saturday and was the only person in the office at the time. The outlet said Montgomery County GOP Chairman Christian Nascimento said the “profanity-laced” call was something like “I’m gonna blow that place up.”
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the Pennsylvania State Police said it was investigating Saturday’s bomb threat alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Montgomery County DA, and Whitpain Township law enforcement officers.
“There is no place for violence or threats of violence against any political group or voter,” The Pennsylvania State Police said. “We are committed to working with the @PAStateDept to ensure the 2024 elections are safe, secure, and fair.”
Following Saturday’s bomb threat, the PA GOP released a statement on X, explaining that the bomb threat was just “one of an increasing number of threats, violence, and intimidation acts against GOP candidates, offices, and staff this cycle” in addition to the two assassination attempts against former President Donald Trump.

In Saturday’s statement, the PA GOP said that an Erie County GOP staff member had received text messages in September from a suspect who threatened to kill and “skin alive” the political party worker.
The PA GOP continued, “On October 10, individuals forcibly entered the Delaware County Republican headquarters, threatened to kill staff, and blocked them from exiting the building.”
The PA GOP also said that multiple people linked to the Republican Party received a letter from an anonymous individual, who said, “Should your candidate win…we know where you live, you are in the data base. In the dead of a cold winters night, this year, or next and beyond, there is no knowing what may happen.” The individual added, “You tread on me at your peril, motherf-cker. We look forward to visiting in the future.”
The PA GOP noted that all of the recent incidents have been reported to the FBI, the governor’s Election Integrity Task Force, and local law enforcement agencies.
In Saturday’s statement, Pennsylvania Republican Party Chairman Lawrence Tabas said, “Nothing will stop us from working to elect those who will put our country back on track. And there should be unanimous agreement that political violence has no place in our elections, especially after an innocent Butler County husband and father lost his life to political violence. We emphatically urge Pennsylvanians to voice their opinions by voting, not violence and intimidation.”
