The Southern Military Zone on Saturday thwarted two attempts, involving individuals and a drone, to infiltrate quantities of narcotics along its western border.
The source said that the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) surveillance and monitoring efforts led to the enforcement of engagement rules against several smugglers, forcing them to retreat, according to a JAF statement.
Following a search of the area, narcotics were recovered and handed over to the relevant authorities, the source added.
The Southern Military Zone also thwarted another smuggling attempt along its western borders, involving a drone loaded with narcotics.
The drone was downed after an investigation and tracking efforts, and its cargo of narcotics was also confiscated and turned over to the relevant authorities, the statement said.
The source emphasised the JAF’s commitment to using all available resources and force, when necessary, to prevent infiltration and smuggling activities, ensuring the security and stability of the Kingdom.
