The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project claimed on Monday that an individual who “regularly” visited the home and the workplace of former President Donald Trump’s would-be assassin also visited a building in the “same vicinity” of an Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) office in Washington, D.C.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the Oversight Project said, “We found the assassin’s connections through our in-depth analysis of mobile ad data to track movements of Crooks and his associates. To do this, we tracked devices that regularly visited both Crooks’s home and place of work and followed them.”

The Oversight Project explained that someone who “regularly visited” the home and workplace of would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks also visited a building located in the Gallery Place in Washington, D.C. The Oversight Project added, “This is in the same vicinity of an @FBI office on June 26, 2023. Who’s device is this?”

In another post on social media, the Oversight Project said it identified multiple devices located at the home and workplace of the would-be assassin. “There were at least 9 devices linked to these AD-IDs,” the Oversight Project stated.

In addition to the device linked to the mysterious individual who visited Washington, D.C., and regularly visited Crooks’s home and workplace, the Oversight Project said it found another device connected to Crooks’s work that traveled to Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 4 and July 8. The Oversight Project added, “This device stopped all activity on July 12th.”

While the Oversight Project indicated that it would cooperate with “legitimate investigations” to provide additional information regarding Crooks and his possible connections, the Oversight Project explained that in order to protect whistleblowers, it would not share more information with the congressional task force “due to the connective tissue between that entity and FBI, USSS, and other entities.”

“If the Secret Service, FBI, Intelligence Community, etc have any culpability in the shooting then why should anyone feel safe reporting any information to a bipartisan Member task force that has a built in feedback loop to those entities and a partisan interest?” the Oversight Project tweeted.
