The Border Patrol union president recently claimed that President Joe Biden’s administration is flying illegal immigrants into the United States “so that the border doesn’t look as out of control” and warned that the administration may push for an “amnesty program in the future” to allow the millions of illegal immigrants who have entered the country under the administration to continue living in the United States.

Describing the administration’s efforts to fly illegal immigrants into the country rather than entering along the southern border between the United States and Mexico, National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd told The New York Post, “It’s just a bait and switch.”

“They’re just paroling people in through airports rather than having them come across the border,” Judd said. “They’re just gonna keep the numbers at around 5,000 [border crossings per day], parole people in and say, ‘Oh, look, we cut our numbers down.'”

The Border Patrol union president told The New York Post that even the decreased border crossing numbers represent an “astronomical high” compared to border crossings during former President Donald Trump and former President Barack Obama’s administrations.

“We’re still five times higher than what we should be,” Judd said. “but lower than those record number of apprehensions at the southern border.”

Judd told The New York Post that he does not expect the Biden administration to make “drastic changes” to address the persistent illegal immigration crisis along the southern border, especially since Biden has repeatedly claimed that Congress needs to pass new legislation to address the crisis. Despite the president’s claims, Judd suggested that there are “a lot of things” Biden could do to reduce the current level of illegal immigration.

“He just refuses to do it because, if he does it, he’s gonna prove that he was basically a liar,” Judd told The New York Post. “Everything was about a legal pathway for those people that already violated our laws.”

The Border Patrol union president warned that the Biden administration’s policies could lead to an “amnesty program in the future” for the almost 8 million illegal immigrants that will likely be living in the United States by the end of Fiscal Year 2024, according to The New York Post.

“All you’re doing is inviting more people to come because they then see, ‘OK, well, all I gotta do is get here, stay here for 10 years and I’m gonna have a legal pathway down the road as well,'” Judd added. “It doesn’t work.”
