A New England resident hosting an illegal immigrant family in her Massachusetts apartment recently told a local news outlet that she feels like she “has her own personal chef.”

NBC10 Boston shared the story of a Haitian immigrant family Monday, detailing the family’s experience in the Boston region. According to NBC10 Boston, Wildande Joseph and her husband began their experience in Boston by sleeping on the floor of the Boston Logan International Airport before having to go to the children’s hospital for medical care for their 2-year-old daughter.

NBC10 Boston noted that the family recently was invited to stay at the Brookline apartment of Lisa Hillenbrand, a New England resident who agreed to take the family into her home as they continue to search for jobs in the area.

“It’s a delight, and it’s really fun having them,” Hillenbrand said. “What I realized is there’s so much prejudice against refugees mostly because people don’t know them.”

In a viral video shared by conservative commentator Jack Posobiec, an NBC10 Boston reporter explained that Wildande Joseph loves to cook and has a goal of opening her own restaurant. The reporter added, “Lisa says she feels like she has her own personal chef as Wildande loves cooking.”

Media personality Benny Johnson also shared the video on social media, warning that liberals are “now housing illegal migrants in exchange for ‘private chef’ services.” Johnson added, “Indentured servitude is now ‘compassionate’ according to the woke mind virus.”

Hillenbrand told NBC10 Boston that she feels “great” helping the illegal immigrant family by allowing them to stay with her while they continue to take English classes and search for jobs. She said the family is “hardworking,” wants to learn, and wants to become successful in America.

By hosting the family in her apartment, Hillenbrand claimed she is able to “understand the refugee crisis from the inside.” Hillenbrand also told NBC10 Boston that she is “impressed” by the number of New England residents who are volunteering to host illegal immigrant families in their homes and that she hopes more people will continue to volunteer.
