A new TikTok video shows famous singer Ellie Goulding appearing to be hit in the face with a firework while performing at a concert.
The video shows the 36-year-old singer performing “Miracle” before a firework blast from the concert stage appeared to explode in her face. In the video, Goulding can be heard using explicit language after the firework exploded.
The video also shows Goulding briefly covering her face in the aftermath of the explosion before the singer continued with her set at the Victorious Festival in Portsmouth, U.K.
According to Fox News, following the concert incident last weekend, Goulding shared an update on Wednesday regarding her condition on her Instagram story. The British pop singer reassured her fans that she was not injured in the accident.
“To those asking I am ok! Pyro didn’t hit me directly in the face,” she wrote. “Face is intact. Love you thank you x.”
Goulding is not the only artist impacted by a firework accident during a concert performance. Michael Clifford, the lead guitarist for 5 Seconds of Summer, suffered a significant injury during a mistake involving pyrotechnics. The Australian guitarist’s hair caught fire, leaving him with facial burns during a performance when he walked into a firework display.
According to Fox News, after his face was attended to and covered with bandages, Clifford posted a photo captioned, “What the f—s up. sorry I couldnt finish the encore, but at least I look like two face. thanks for worrying every1 x.”
Additionally, in 2019, Spanish pop singer Joana Sainz García was killed as the result of a pyrotechnics malfunction.
Goulding is currently preparing for the launch of her “Higher Than Heaven” tour, which will begin in Dublin on October 16.
