The Biden administration colluded with social media companies to censor Americans in an effort that involved at least 45 federal officials at the White House, FBI, Department of Homeland Security, State Department, Treasury Department, U.S. Election Assistance Commission, and more.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry said in a statement on Thursday that a lawsuit filed earlier this year forced the Department of Justice (DOJ) to reveal emails exposing at least 45 federal officials at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and the Office of the Surgeon General who “communicate[d] with social media platforms about ‘misinformation’ and censorship.’”

Among the DOJ’s disclosures is an email from a senior Facebook official to the Surgeon General, which states, “I know our teams met today to better understand the scope of what the White House expects from us on misinformation going forward.”

Another email shows that Twitter scheduled a meeting to debrief top White House officials on “vaccine misinformation” and “ways the White House (and our COVID experts) can partner in product work.”

Multiple emails also revealed “several instances where Facebook wouldn’t proceed with censoring freedom of speech on their platform until they had input, or a ‘debunking’ from the CDC.”

“Twitter followed the same course in at least one email,” the attorneys general said.

Additionally, the CDC sent an email to Facebook proposing “a monthly pre-debunking meeting … to help them censor free speech.”

Another email revealed that “a White House official was even concerned about parody Fauci accounts and coordinated with [Facebook] to take them down.

The attorneys general pointed out that the DOJ’s disclosure is incomplete, noting they “did not provide information about any federal officials at other federal agencies” who they know “engage in such communications with social-media platforms about misinformation and censorship.”

“Defendants’ document production, however, reveals that such officials at other federal agencies exist—for example, their emails include extensive copying of officials at the Census Bureau, and they also include communications involving the Departments of Treasury and State,” the statement read.

The DOJ’s disclosures are also missing details that were already revealed by Meta (formerly known as Facebook) and YouTube.

“Meta, for example, has disclosed that at least 32 federal officials—including senior officials at the FDA, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, and the White House—have communicated with Meta about content moderation on its platforms, many of whom were not disclosed in response to Plaintiffs’ interrogatories to Defendants,” the statement said.

“YouTube disclosed eleven federal officials engaged in such communications, including officials at the Census Bureau and the White House, many of whom were also not disclosed by Defendants,” it added.

The attorneys general said that the DOJ’s disclosures already show a “censorship enterprise” that is “extremely broad” and involves officials in the White House, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), DHS, CISA, CDC, NIAID, and the Office of the Surgeon General.

The extreme censorship effort also evidently includes the Census Bureau, the Food and Drug Administration, the FBI, the State Department, the Treasury Department, and the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.

“This ‘Censorship Enterprise’ is proven by the Department of Justice’s productions thus far, but the full extent of federal officials’ collusion with social media companies on censorship is unknown until the Department of Justice produces further communications requested by Missouri and Louisiana,” the attorneys general warned, noting that it “rises to the highest levels of the U.S. Government.”

Attorney General Schmitt said in a statement that the documents “clearly prove that the federal government has an incestuous relationship with social media companies and clearly coordinate to censor freedom of speech.”

“The Department of Justice is cowering behind executive privilege and has refused to turn over communications between the highest-ranking Biden Administration officials and social media companies,” he continued. “That’s why, yesterday, we asked the Court to compel the Department of Justice to produce those records. We’re just getting started – stay tuned.”

Last week, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted that an FBI warning was behind Facebook’s decision to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story ahead of the 2020 election.

According to a Media Research Center poll conducted in the immediate aftermath of the 2020 election, 16 percent of Biden voters said they would not have voted for Biden if they had known about the FBI’s investigation into the Biden family – meaning the public’s awareness of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal would likely have changed the outcome of the election.
