A Fort Bragg soldier was killed and two others were injured in a traffic accident Thursday morning while en route to training, Army officials said.

The accident happened as soldiers were heading to a training range on Raeford Vass Road near Plank Road at about 9:15 a.m., according to a news release from Fort Bragg and 18th Airborne Corps public affairs office.

“The accidental death of this Soldier is tragic; my thoughts and prayers are with the Family,” Fort Bragg Garrison commander Col. Scott Pence said in the release.

The names of those involved were not being released pending notification of next of kin, the release said.

The incident is currently under investigation.
