A woman was shot inside the Capitol building Wednesday after violent protesters forced their way past several layers of security and fencing, prompting evacuations and lockdowns, Fox 5 DC reported.

The sound of a gunshot is audible in one video, and moments later, a woman is seen covered in blood on the floor among a crowd of protesters. See it below:

Another video broadcast by MSNBC shows the same woman covered in blood and being taken out of the building on a stretcher.

“Oh my God. Paramedics bringing out a stretcher with what looked like a woman very gravely injured and covered in blood. It is unclear how that happened,” a reporter with MSNBC is heard saying along with the video.

Protestors who were protesting the election results had broke through fencing and stormed the U.S. Capitol building earlier on Wednesday, overtaking police and eventually breaching the Congressional chambers.

Fox 5 DC shared an image on Twitter showing a protester hanging from a balcony in the Senate Chamber.

Marina Marraco, a journalist for Fox 5 D.C., shared several images of the scene at the Capitol building, including lawmakers who appear to run for cover on the Senate floor.

The Daily Wire shared video showing a SWAT team apparently arriving at the scene. Earlier Wednesday, roughly 1,100 Army National Guard members were mobilized in Washington, D.C., in response to the riots taking over the Capitol building.

Thousands of supporters of President Donald Trump descended upon Washington, D.C., Wednesday for a “Stop the Steal” rally to protest certifying the 2020 presidential election as Congress prepared to tally the Electoral College votes and officially declare Joe Biden as president-elect.

Video of the event showed thousands of protestors gathered on Capitol Hill, waving American and Trump flags as “stop the steal” chants echoed throughout the crowd.

“Tens of thousands of Trump supporters are out in DC this morning, packing The Ellipse and now filing up much of the space near the Washington Monument as an overflow area to watch the rally,” one Twitter user said, sharing a video of the immense gathering.
