“ISIS bride” Hoda Muthana claims she never hated America, despite being radicalized by ISIS and calling for Americans’ deaths, and insists she won’t commit crimes if she returns to the U.S.

“I didn’t hate America” she told Fox News on Monday. “I didn’t hate anything. I just thought it was obligatory – when I started practicing I was very scared of the concept of hellfire. The Koran told me to go.”

Muthana is living in a camp in northern Syria and still fighting to return to the U.S. despite leaving it to join ISIS and preaching hatred toward the U.S. and Christianity.

“Before I came, I’ve never done any crime and I’m sure I’m not going to be doing any crimes in the future,” she said, “and I know I’ve come to Syria and look like I am a supporter of the worst terror group in history.”

“I just want to go back home,” she added. “I want my son to see my family, I want him to be safe in Syria. It’s not safe here, no matter what my government tells me.”

Muthana left her home and university studies in Alabama at age 19 to join the terror organization in Syria, married three times, had a child, and has now begged to return to the U.S., claiming she’s still a citizen.

She insists it’s her right to return.

“I know I am an American citizen and I know I have the right to come back,” she said during an interview with CBS News last month.

“I have papers. I have citizenship,” she continued. “I have no other citizenship anywhere. Even my own home country I don’t. I’ve never been there (Yemen).”

Muthana was reportedly born in New Jersey to Yemeni parents. Her father worked as a diplomat, and the children of diplomats or foreign nationals are not automatically granted citizenship.

However, Muthana, her family, and lawyers all claim she was born months after her father’s diplomat status ended. She claims she used her U.S. passport when she traveled to Syria.

The U.S. maintains that she is not a U.S. citizen and will not be permitted to reenter the country.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has called Muthana “a terrorist” who “Put American soldiers’ lives at risk.”

Last month, Muthana tweeted, “Americans wake up! Men and women altogether. You have much to do while you live under our greatest enemy, enough of your sleeping! Go on drive-bys and spill all of their blood, or rent a big truck and drive all over them. Veterans, Patriot, Memorial etc Day parades..go on drive by’s + spill all of their blood or rent a big truck n drive all over them. Kill them.”

The post was since taken down and Muthana claimed that ISIS took control of her Twitter account.
