Army Ranger killed in accidental shooting at training facility has been identified

A U.S. soldier who was killed in an accidental shooting at an Oregon training facility has been identified, officials said.

Spc. Devin Kuhn, 24, died Wednesday while in the emergency room at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria.

Kuhn was assigned to Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, since December 2015.

KPTV reported that Kuhn, a U.S. Army Ranger, died after a shot was fired in the housing area at Camp Rilea.

Kuhn once deployed in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

Camp Rilea is the primary training facility for the Oregon National Guard.

Kuhn’s death is under investigation.
