On Wednesday, a woman reportedly drew her 9mm handgun when a clown in the backseat of an SUV made a gun shooting gesture with his fingers and then pointed it at her, mouthing the words “bang.”
The woman, who was sitting on the porch at the time reported the incident to the police which happened around 5:30 pm local time.
The woman told the Lewiston-Auburn Sun Journal that the rear view window of the car rolled down so that the clown could make a gun shooting gesture at her.
“He had a red Afro wig on and a red nose,” she said. “The smile was creepy — the painted-on one.” The clown was also wearing a clown shirt and his neck was white.
“I say, ‘I’m not afraid of clowns,'” the woman said. “I started laughing. It’s almost Halloween, so I didn’t think too much about it.”
After he made the gesture, she grabbed her 9mm handgun and said “Back at ya clown,” with the gun in hand, she told the Sun Journal.
“It freaked me out,” she said.
The woman was also worried for the other children that were playing outside in the area.
“It seems like something bad is going to happen,” she said.
This incident is only one of the more recent incidents involving clowns that are scaring people across the country. There have been several sightings in the United States over the past month involving clowns making threats towards people and towards schools.
