Media Ignores Second Amendment History Of USPSA Shooter That Stopped Minnesota Terror Attack

September 19, 2016

Dahir Adan stabbed nine people in St. Cloud, MN on Sunday before he was shot and killed by a firearms instructor that specializes in training citizens on how to handle firearms during emergency situations. Jason Falconer is the owner of Tactical Advantage, a company that prides itself on offering specialized classes to teach citizens to effectively and safely carry concealed weapons. He has been instructing citizens and law enforcement officials with “reality-based” training that focuses on real life scenarios; such as armed robberies, home invader scenarios, or even terrorist attacks. Mainstream media has largely ignored Falconer’s history of being a vocal Second Amendment supporter and the fact that his presence saved lives.

Many sources are describing Falconer simply as “an off-duty cop” and are ignoring his long history of supporting Second Amendment rights. He is currently a part-time officer with the Albany police department and formerly served as the police chief. Falconer’s impressive resume doesn’t end there. He is also a United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) shooter and an NRA certified 3-Gunner.

Falconer is resistant to accept the title of “hero.” He claims he was simply in the right place at the right time. He went to the mall to purchase an iPhone 7  but was forced to intervene when he saw Adan carrying the bloodied knife. Falconer identified himself as a police officer and Adan immediately lunged at him. Thanks to his years of training Falconer was able to react in time. He was forced to shoot Adan at least three times as he continued to advance on Falconer.

Avon Police Chief Corey Nellis has publicly commented on Falconer’s deeds. He states that he believes more victims would have been hurt and possibly even killed if it weren’t for Falconer. He told reporters:

“Officer Falconer put himself in harm’s way to protect the public from a man who had already stabbed nine victims. He was the right person, at the right place, at the right time.”
