Watch The Rock, Kevin Hart & Other Celebs Take Part In 22 Push-up Veteran Suicide Awareness Challenge

August 18, 2016

Celebrities and stars across all of the United States are taking part in the 22 push-up challenge to raise awareness for veteran suicide and the 22 United States military veterans that commit suicide daily.

The 22 pushup challenge is a part of an initiative which was started by #22KILL to raise awareness for veteran suicides. Several celebrities from Chris Pratt to The Rock, John Krasinski and more have already taken part in the challenge to raise awareness and that number is growing.

Even though the target number is 22, the group encourages everyone to do as many as they want and in whatever way they want to because every pushup counts towards their long-term target goal of reaching 22 million pushups to “show support for our veterans.”

“Whether it’s 1 or 100 in a row, we will accept them however they come. They can be assisted (on your knees), incline (on a desk/wall), or if you physically are unable to do any, we’ll even take air pushups. They all count towards the goal as long as you follow the instructions below,” the site reads.

Similar to that of the ALS awareness ice bucket challenge that went viral two years ago, a video of a person doing the pushup challenge has to be posted on social media with the hashtag #22KILL and add the amount of pushups being done in a hashtag as well. The video then has to be uploaded on the organizations social media pages and the person taking part in the challenge should nominate more people to take part in it.

As of Monday afternoon, there are roughly 100,000 posts with the related hashtags on Instagram. Here are just a few of the celebrities taking part in the awesome challenge.
