Milo Yiannopoulos, a highly controversial conservative figure in American politics, has been permanently banned from Twitter for writing a harsh movie review. Yiannopoulos was banned from the social media platform after getting into a heated debated with Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones. The recently released Ghostbuster re-boot featured an all-female cast and has sparked an all out war between far-left social justice warriors and lovers of the original film on social media platforms. Jones and Yiannopoulos got into a heated argument over the quality of the film. The exchange spurred other posters into commenting on the movie. Jones reportedly received hate mail and even death threats over the film.
Twitter took the opportunity to blame Yiannopoulos for the actions of others. Yiannopoulos has a history of feuding with the social media giant and believes the ban is a thinly-veiled attack against him based on his conservative values. Excerpts between Yiannopoulos and Jones that led to his ban can be seen below:
The attempt to ban Yiannopoulos to silence his views and impact his career has been a resounding failure. He called the incident the “best thing to ever happen to him” and has stated that he has become a more prominent figure than ever before.
