The airstrikes took place just south of the Iraqi city which is known to have strong ISIS influence in the area. Col. Christopher Garver told Fox News that roughly 55 vehicles were destroyed in the airstrike. At least 250 ISIS fighters were also killed in the airstrikes. If the number of kills is confirmed, this would be one of the most deadly strikes against ISIS.

A U.S. official told Fox News that a second convoy of ISIS fighters formed just east of Ramadi late Wednesday before U.S.-led coalitions launched more strikes. Roughly 120 vehicles were destroyed in the air attacks. Iraqi forces destroyed more in both attacks.

The attack comes just a day after a triple suicide bombing attack killed 42 people and injured hundreds more. According to U.S. officials, ISIS is the prime suspect in the attacks.

No one has yet to claim responsibility for the attacks, but Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim is pointing the blame towards ISIS.
